I cant see reason for speedy deletion. The programm is GNU licenced and I need the images for the german Wikipedia. Nikolang 05:19, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
What button did you use to make that? - Patricksheridan|TALK|HISTORY 23:01, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
When you mean the orbits: They can be switched on under render/view options/. There is one button in the top left to switch the feature on (button "o" can do that too) and several buttons under Orbits/Labels in the same Window. These buttons are important, when you want to switch the orbits with the button "o" on or off. I hope thats answers your question. --Nikolang 05:09, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
Hello, and thank your for sharing your files with Commons. There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. Please remember that all uploads require source, author and license information. Could you please resolve these problems, which are described on the page linked in above? Thank you. --Siebrand 17:15, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
- Oh sorry. I forgot to add it. Its Public Domain. --Nikolang 17:36, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

- Original work by Everstar. Look at the summary. I only cropped the border. --Nikolang (talk) 07:43, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, I've seen that after I tagged the picture. Sorry, the notice is somewhat automatic, you can just remove it. --Eusebius (talk) 08:42, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
Border removal
[edit]Hi, I think that when removing borders you may find quite a number of pictures which are (unspotted) copyright violations. Could I ask you to be cautious about it and maybe to point me the picture when you have a doubt? Thanks. --Eusebius (talk) 09:42, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
- I will try --Nikolang (talk) 09:43, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks! And thanks for your work. --Eusebius (talk) 09:45, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
Tip: Categorizing images
[edit]
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.
[[Category:Category name]]
For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:
[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]
This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.BotMultichillT 06:09, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

Hello Nikolang,
I recently saw the .svg version of your image used on the article, Heliocentrism in the English Wikipedia. The drawings are elegant and simple, but there's a small problem with the depiction of the planets and their epicycles in the geocentric version.
In Ptolemy's geocentric model, the center of the epicycles of Mercury and Venus are on the line from the Earth to the Sun (strictly speaking to the mean Sun but that's a minor technicality). Similarly, the line from the center of the epicycles to the planets Mars, Jupiter and Saturn should be parallel to the line from the Earth to the Sun. That's necessary if the Ptolemaic model is to properly reproduce the observed retrograde motions of the planets.
Could you revise this drawings and then ask User:Booyabazooka to revise the .svg version? --SteveMcCluskey (talk) 20:19, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

Bitte korrigieren! Eine richtige Darstellung findet man z.B. hier: http://skepticalteacher.wordpress.com/2010/09/25/an-actual-geocentrism-conference-are-you-frakkin-kidding/

Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Nikolang. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Nikolang~commonswiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
Community Liaison, Wikimedia Foundation
