Summary[edit]
DescriptionWorlds Underwater - Douglas McCauley.webm |
English: We are living through the most important moment in the history of our oceans. In 2014, for the first time people consumed more farmed fish than wild fish. We now have 300-ton robots capable of harvesting minerals from the sea bed. Douglas McCauley, Professor of Marine Biology at UC Santa Barbara, discusses the technologies that could enable us to avoid the real risk of a mass extinction of ocean species.
