Duplicate?

When I saw this volcan erruption photo, I got the feeling that I had seen the image before... Yes, very similar version of the same image is one of the finalists of the POTY 2010. I don't think that rotation and possible other minor changes could be a criterion for re-nominating image. I propose to delist the image from the voting galleries and choose between File:ISS020-E-09048 Sarychev.jpg and File:Sarychev Peak.jpg as FP. — Draceane ^talk_contrib. 14:11, 21 November 2022 (UTC)

Banner translation

Someone did bad Google translation (or similar) for Latvian (lv) texts and put in online. We have fixed multiple mistakes there 2 weeks ago but these have not been updated. Not sure who needs to be poked so that it is done. Papuass (talk) 10:55, 28 November 2022 (UTC)

Final Round - Broken Image?

The "International Space Station star trails - JSC2012E039800.jpg" image does not appear on multiple browsers for me. Not sure if it's a problem on my end or not. Semmendinger (talk) 03:19, 1 December 2022 (UTC)

About edits count

Hi @快乐的老鼠宝宝, the 75 edits can be to any Wikimedia project. You can use the AccountEligiblity tool to check, which shows that you're eligible to vote! Legoktm (talk) 16:21, 1 December 2022 (UTC)

why are photos from 2020 eligible?

this photo is eligible for round two and everything about it points to it being captured and possibly even submitted back in 2020.

isnt this "photo of the year 2021" ?

A big secret

I don't know who is organizing this POTY but you seem be be doing your best to hide the process from those most involved in submitting images - i.e. the featured pictures candidates page. I've entered a reminder a couple of times but it has been removed. A poor effort. Regulars at Commons don't go the home page. You should know that. Charlesjsharp (talk) 18:31, 2 December 2022 (UTC)

Hi @Charlesjsharp: the organizing committee is linked in the header of every POTY page. Can you explain what you mean by your reminder being removed? All help with promoting the contest is welcome, we're certainly not trying to hide anything. Legoktm (talk) 23:30, 2 December 2022 (UTC)

You may not know that candidates for POTY are promoted as FPs on the FPc page. So anyone with common sense would alert contributors to that page that POTY voting is open. You didn't do that. I placed two reminders on the FPC page but they were removed. Also, should you have a user with images that are being considered for POTY on the committee? I have no idea why you're being so dismissive and rude. If you want to advertise it on the FPC page and are being reverted, you should probably discuss it with whoever is doing that! I think we're all happy to support advertising it in more places. Given that there is a sitewide banner advertising the contest to everyone who visits Commons and any Wikimedia site, I would expect most regulars to see it and be aware of the contest. I always look forward to POTY, so thanks to everyone involved. Legotkm, Firefly, Rhododendrites, and AntiCompositeNumber should all be recognized for their efforts. POTY helps me feel more connected to the greater wikiverse, so I appreciate that. I hope if anyone who helped who is not listed on the committee page will also see this and know of my gratitude. Why are numbers different for eligible voters

In result page, winner announcements It's written There were 2,360 eligible voters in R1, and 2,971 in round R2. Why different when eligibility rules are same. Or does it mean count of people who actually voted? -- Parnaval (talk) 20:51, 16 December 2022 (UTC)

The pictures I voted did not win

The pictures I voted for stand at 22, 25, 48. I am not happy. Is my judgement of good picture very different from general commons community. What do people here usually look for in a picture while voting? -- Parnaval (talk) 20:58, 16 December 2022 (UTC)
