Wiki Loves Africa is a photographic, video, and audio contest where anyone across Africa can contribute media that relates to that year's theme to Wikimedia Commons) for use on Wikipedia and other project websites of the Wikimedia Foundation. Wiki Loves Africa encourages participants to contribute media (photographs, video, and audio) that illustrate the specific theme for that year. Each year the theme changes. This Year`s Theme is Africa Creates. You are encouraged to submit any photos of creation, production, and cultural industry in Zimbabwe between 24th February and 30th April 2024. By submitting your photos to the competition, you share creation, manufacturing, and production works done in Zimbabwe with the rest of the world to enjoy through the internet and allow visibility of your shots and your country.

Find creation, production and cultural industry in Zimbabwe
Take images of creation of art in all forms: craft, fashion, film, dance, literature, textile design and fabrication, beverages, or street or restaurant food, using traditional methods or modern processes of manufacture.


Take photos
Make as many and as good photos as you can, try different angles. Even if the photo doesn't win you a prize, it may help Wikipedia!


Describe them
Write down what you photographed. Record the name, description, and date of photo.


Upload to Commons
Upload your images to Wikimedia Commons between 1st of March and 30th of April 2024. Create an account, if you don't have one already.

Every Upload should be:

  • Done with a Wikimedia commons Username. If you do not have one, you can kindly Create an account here.
  • Self taken and self uploaded;
  • Uploaded during March and April 2024;
  • Uploaded process with given permission with a CC BY-SA licenseto re-use the image;
