Context[edit]

Universidad de la Comunicación is a private university in Mexico, founded on December 13, 1976. Its campus Rome is a building built in the 20s, designed by architect E. Prunes, inspired by the "Azahara Palace". The university bought the stock of historic photographs of the building of the campus to different private owners, and decided to donate part of the acquis to Wikimedia Commons.

Presentation[edit]

Universidad de la Comunicación initiated collaboration with Wikimedia Mexico, performing a "Editatón" of English Wikipedia on 24 November 2012 as the inaugural event of the Corredor Cultural Roma Condesa. In order to support the Edit-a-thon, Wikimedia México assisted in uploading the historic photographs and recent images of Colonia Roma, taken by university students.
