DescriptionA pitted half-dome of a rock, U of A -b.jpg |
The following is the author's description of the photograph quoted directly from the photograph's Flickr page. "Revisited the mystery rock only to have it become more bizarre. The hand of the curator is on top of this look inside. So this thing is not a hemisphere, it is one half of a full concretion, internal radial lines leading to external pores throughout its entirety. Now life usually embraces and faces the sun. So is this a genuine radial organism? Are there any spherical corals or marine puffballs in the fossil record? There are other porous half domes or concretions from Ponoka AB on display elsewhere in Edmonton which I will try to see, but departure is imminent. " |
