Description |
English: Portrait of Queen Catherine Parr (1512–1548), sixth and last wife of Henry VIII of England attributed to Master John. Formerly thought to be Lady Jane Grey (1537-1554). The sitter was formerly thought to be Lady Jane Grey, however there is considerable evidence to support the traditional identification as Catherine Parr, including the distinctive crown-shaped brooch, which can be identified in an inventory of jewels belonging to the queen. |
