Summary[edit]

Description
English: "Manganese dendrites" are classic examples of pseudofossils. Prima facie - at first glance - these appear to be plant fossils, but they're not. These structures are composed of one or more manganese oxide minerals. They form as fluids seep along bedding planes or fractures in rocks and precipitate Mn-oxide. Pseudofossils are structures that resemble fossils, but are definitely not fossils. Dubiofossils are structures that may or may not be fossils.
