Summary[edit]

Description
English: Scoresby Sund is the longest fjord in the world, stretching for 350 km (217 miles), and also one of the deepest (over 1500 m, 4,900 ft deep). Waters in the fjords show spots of bright turquoise color from sediments deposited there by runoff. Little spots of white in the water seem to be ice originating from the deeper fjords that reach all the way to the icecap covering most of the island.
