The dark sea of publication showing an innocent diver (scientist) and a shark (predatory journal)

Summary[edit]

Description
English: The dark sea of publication showing an innocent diver (scientist) and a shark (predatory journal): this picture shows a dark world of scientific publications with a predatory journal industry that is growing in response to a collapsing academic / scientific culture. By academic culture, I mean not only researchers with their writing ability, but also researchers with limited capacity to measure the performance of others. Because size is only based on numbers (quantitative) and speed, researchers tend to choose the fastest way. Like water that always uses the law of gravity to find a gap so that it can flow downward. The fastest path is the predatory journal.
