Description
English: Climatic regimes and biomes considered in the evaluations. The background map illustrates the land use classification scheme of the International Geosphere–Biosphere Programme (IGBP) used in Fig. 8. The Darling Basin in southeastern Australia, as considered in Sect. 3.2, is contoured in red. The Amazon Basin, as considered in Sect. 3.4, is marked in blue, with white triangles indicating the locations of past interception loss campaigns. Dots indicate the centroids of the 837 basins used in the analyses presented in Sect. 3.3.
