Summary[edit]

Description Closeup of the drive mechanism. This is a 2 RPM synchronous motor with a drill chuck clamped onto the tiny driveshaft. Heavy door striker plates are used to couple the motor driveshaft to the drivescrew. On the lower (fixed) arm, a small round mirror is used for the bearing surface of the drivescrew, which is capped by a screwed-on acorn nut.
